Glaze Results

Lots of glaze results this month! So happy with a lot of the results. The new underglaze I bought are gorgeous. They very pigmented and they feel really nice on raw clay. I will definitely be using this from now on!

I like the purple bowl a lot. I think I like how the underglaze feels on raw clay rather than under a clear glaze so I may start designing pots with a mix of a color inside, underglaze+raw clay on the outside.

These are just a combo of glazes i have been testing for a while and some new ones! Experiments are so helpful, everything turned out exactly as expected!

This set are some new experiments. I dont like the green bottle (alabaster + nori green) and the pinkish pot in the back left (honey flux + various spectrum floating glazes). The rest are super coool and I will use them in my future pots!

Glaze Prep

Had a little glaze sesh and trying more colors with the new underglazes!

Throwing and Trimming

After a long time I took a class at the studio! This one is about altering pots. I threw these myself! Super happy about how easily I can throw bigger now.

I'm a big fan of the yellow pot. I threw a big vase, tied a rope around it and pushed the clay outwards from the inside. Turned out so cool!

The rest of my throwing was finishing up my porcelain and then buying a new clay to try out; Oregon Brown. This clay throw almost as well as the Plum Black!

I am hoping that the clay body's color and feel at the end is a more neutral dark brown. Klamanth is a little too red and Plum Black is a little too dark+blue for the earthy tones I am looking for.

For trimming I got to use a brand new tool I got for christmas. It is so much fun to carve with it!
